Explainer video: factors affecting the quality of emerging crops seeds
The EMERSEED research group at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) focuses on the biology of emerging crops seeds, aiming to enhance their quality and performance. Their research encompasses key areas such as germination physiology, resistance to environmental stresses, and genetic improvement of seeds for more sustainable agriculture.
We have created an explainer video that summarizes the main research areas of the EMERSEED group, highlighting three crucial aspects:
- Abiotic factors: investigating how water stress and other factors impact seed germination and development.
- Plant microbiota: studying the interactions between seeds and soil microbiota, and how these affect plant growth and health.
- Seed quality: analyzing the properties that determine seed quality and its impact on crop performance.
This video provides a clear and concise overview of EMERSEED's research areas.
