Designing a solution for displaying Information at the Creafogar event
Creafogar is an interior design event held in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia. For 20 days, a historic house opens its doors to showcase Galician furniture and home products, undergoing an image renovation that presents purely Galician interior design.
How to customize supports for information labels
The organizers needed a way to display information on labels distributed throughout the walls of the rooms in the house, maintaining a careful aesthetic and showcasing the event's brand.
Requirements
After speaking with the organizers and considering the project's characteristics, the design requirements were as follows:
- The support should be suitable for hanging A3 or A4 sized labels.
- Economical. Create a design that fits within reduced budgets and doesn't waste material.
- Versatile. The solution should allow for changes in the size and thickness of the labels. It should also be easily adaptable, as there are always last-minute changes in events.
- Display the Creafogar logo.
Ideas
Initially, a fully 3D printed clip was considered, but it was discarded due to its high material cost.
We then thought about using clips readily available in stationery stores and designing a 3D printed cover. This idea met all the requirements.
Solution: Customized covers
The designed solution consists of two main components:
- Metal clip:
- Very common and available in any stationery store. - Versatile. Capable of holding thicknesses up to 5mm for use with foam board, small plywood, cardstock, or paper. - Can be hung directly on a screw or hook on the wall. - They are not modified, so they can be reused after the event. 2. 3D printed cover: - Designed as a small cube that rests on the screw and the label. - Conceals both the clip and the screw. - Allows for customization, such as adding the Creafogar logo.
This solution combines functionality, economy, and aesthetics, meeting all the project requirements and providing versatility for future events.
